PRESENTATION OF GIOTTO

On April 24th, in the prestigious setting of the Salone Internazionale dell’Illuminazione Euroluce 2009 (lighting and furniture show in Milan, Italy), Grechi Illuminazione wanted to present the outcome of this work, which had lasted months; great expectations were placed on it.

In the presence of a large and attentive audience formed by journalists, designers and experts, the event was introduced by a presentation by Mario Grechi, who described the long work behind the Giotto project. After that, Arianna Vignati from the Politecnico of Milan praised the fruitful collaboration between Grechi Illuminazione and Poli.Design, which had started the first Workshop aiming at practically and commercially applying the study of design. Then, Professor Gianni Forcolini, teacher of the Politecnico of Milan and expert in light design, emphasized the importance of spreading the study and the research performed by the Politecnico towards marketability and feasibility channels that could not be explored otherwise.

Finally, Marco Brianza, winner of the Workshop and creator of Giotto, explained all technical details of the appliance; Mario Grechi supported him in explaining both the future of Giotto and the collaboration between Grechi and Brianza himself.

The feedback of the day was extremely positive. Grechi Illuminazione, in its turn, wanted to stress the great success of the Workshop with Poli.Design, both from the research and the commercial points of view, supported by one of the most innovatory, influential and qualified institutions about engineering and design study. It was a new achievement towards quality and innovation, aspects that Grechi has always carefully dealt with in a cutting-edge manner. In confirmation of this, Grechi Illuminazione declared that a further Workshop with Poli.Design will be started already at the end of this year.

It was surely a historic day for Grechi Illuminazione, a day that praised the outcome of the great passion existing towards projects that are increasingly innovatory and daring. It is also thanks to these efforts that we look ahead with rising confidence, and it is also thanks to these choices that an economic recovery is being pursued.
